Ramsey Diven
Fine Artist
Ramsey Diven was born in Sanford, North Carolina and currently resides in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Diven started her college career at Coastal Carolina University in the Fall of 2016 pursuing a degree in Art Studio. During this period she received the Sanford Brush and Palette Club Scholarship as well as the Provost Academic Scholarship through Coastal. Diven received the Kathryn Bryan Metts Scholarship in visual arts through the Pawley’s Island Festival of Music and Art in 2017. Early in her college career she picked up minors in Art History and Photography. She was nominated and selected as one of the Edwards College of Humanity and Fine Art’s Research Fellows in early 2017 and has remained a part of the fellowship throughout her time at Coastal. Diven was selected as The Edward’s College of Humanities and Fine Arts Freshman of the Year for Art Studio in 2017. In spring of 2018 Diven was awarded second place in the Oral Presentation category for the Colleges of Humanities and Fine Arts, Business, and Education at the Undergraduate Research Competition at Coastal Carolina University for her project In a State of Serenity. Diven participated in the Pop In Pop Up Art Show at the Conway Beer and Music Festival in the spring of 2019 displaying two of her series, Affective Immersionand The Portrayal of Self Through an Emotionally Charged Playlist. Affective Immersion was also on display at in the Student Union of Coastal Carolina University during the spring and summer of 2019. Diven was selected as The Edward’s College of Humanities and Fine Arts Junior of the Year for Art Studio in 2019. Diven’s series Instances of Emotional Vulnerability is currently on display in Coastal Carolina University’s Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts building. In February of 2020 She was selected as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Art Studio. Diven will graduate from Coastal Carolina University in May 2020 with a BA in Fine Arts.
Ramsey Diven is an artist who works primarily in acrylic paint, watercolor and digital photography. Diven’s work investigates personal emotional experiences and personas through self-portraiture.

Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Art Studio: Student Achievement Award Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts
In February of 2020 Diven received a letter from her university informing her that she had been selected as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Art Studio. Student Achievement awards for each department are given to one student each academic year, all students within the department are eligible for the award for each respective class.
Outstanding Junior in Art Studio: Student Achievement Award, Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts
Diven was selected as the Outstanding Junior in Art Studio in April of 2019. She received this award at The Edwards college of Humanities and Fine Arts Student Achievement Awards Ceremony. Student Achievement awards for each department are given to one student each academic year, all students within the department are eligible for the award for each respective class.
2nd Place in the Oral Presentations for colleges of Humanities and Fine Arts, Business, and Education at Coastal’s Undergraduate Research Competition
In April of 2018 Diven competed in Coastal Carolina University's Undergraduate Research Competition. She presented her research project In a State of Serenity; a watercolor self portrait that explored the nature between self, emotions, and music. Diven was awarded 2nd place in her category for this presentation.
